RHYTHM & MOTION
WITH NITRAM CHARCOAL

"Force", 76.2 cm × 91.44 cm, Nitram Charcoal & Liquid Charcoal on stretched canvas
“In this portrayal, I have tried to depict the force in motion of a raging bull. While its eyes are calm and focused, the movement of its body shows its brutal intent. As I like to capture and portray emotions, rhythm and motion through my artwork, wildlife as a subject allows me to do so, and this work aptly stands as a cover of my work-folio.
I have been working with Nitram Charcoal for 6 years now, and I am absolutely in love with it. From the moment I started working with their exquisite charcoal, from their sticks to their Liquid Charcoal, I knew there was no going anywhere else. It helped me tell my stories on paper and canvas the way I wanted them to be told, and that has played the ultimate role in my sticking with Nitram for more than half a decade now.”

I am a self taught practicing artist based at Madhyamgram, a town near Kolkata. I like to portray emotions, rhythm and motion through my artworks and that is why portraiture and figurative compositions of human & wildlife stay at the top of my subject list. Expressionism is the form of my works. Charcoal is my go to medium and besides that, oil is a medium that helps me express the best. Instagram:@scribbleemo
