ARTISTIC EXPRESSION!

WITH NITRAM POWDERED CHARCOAL

"Noise", 2024 by Stefan Wepfer, 100 x 70 cm, Nitram Powdered Charcoal on Fabriano “Artistico”, extra white, satined, 300 gr/m²

Inspired by the intricate rhythms and mystical atmosphere of progressive music, Stefan Wepfer created a charcoal drawing that captures movement, precision, and depth. Fascinated by innovative drumming techniques rooted in geometric patterns, Wepfer crafted a piece that blends technical mastery with artistic expression.
The composition, drawn from music and visual elements, centers on a dynamic drum set, symbolizing rhythm as the heartbeat of creativity. A raven’s head with two beaks—one open, one closed—adds a dreamlike element, reflecting duality and mysticism.
Nitram Charcoal Powder played a crucial role in the creation of the work. The extra fine and homogeneous powder allowed for precise detail, a perfect blend with intense black tones. Its yield and quality were essential to photo-realistically capture the brilliance of the drum set and the dynamic movements of the drumsticks. With Nitram Charcoal, Stefan Wepfer was able to bring the rhythmic energy of his subject to life with impressive precision.
